Miscellaneous
2023 UPDATES
Daniel Moore (’12) has recently been hired to teach physical education and 7th grade science at his elementary alma mater Calvary Baptist Church Academy in Glen Burnie, MD. This is his first full-time teaching position. Prayers would be much appreciated that he would settle into this new career path and “impact eternity” in the spiritual lives of his students.
Clay Powell (’94) serves in the US Army Reserve and was pinned a Colonel on April 1, 2023. He is heading to joint training at the Air War College at Maxwell AFB in Montgomery, AL.
2022 UPDATES
Sandi Turton (’88) is blessed to announce her position as Vice President of Marketing for Barrister & Associates, in Richmond, VA.
2020 UPDATES
Shea Burris Walter (’11) would appreciate prayers as she works to obtain National Board Teacher Certification. Currently, she is teaching exceptional children in rural North Carolina. She has two children, Wakelyn and Lorelai.
Denise Tart Vandermey (’82) met her husband Ron at the College through Ron’s sister Marion Cohen, wife of Dr. Gary G. Cohen (former CCC president). They were married on June 5, 1982. They celebrated their 38th wedding anniversary this year. They serve the Lord at Bethany Bible Presbyterian Church where Ron serves as the pastor. Denise recently retired from teaching Sunday school for 3-5 year olds. She is currently teaching an 8 year old who has Down Syndrome.
2019 UPDATES
Alan Hedrick (’08) graduated with a MBA from Syracuse University.
Greg Judy (’11) was married to Brittany in 2011. He just finished his 8th year as a full-time public school teacher at Eastern Hancock High School in Charlottesville, IN. He teaches employability skills classes. Greg and Brittany have two sons, Ethan (3/16/17) and Owen (1/5/19).
Cyrus Andrew Perry (’02) is currently a captain in the U.S. Air Force and is stationed at Peterson AFB in Colorado Springs.
Diana Joss (’89) is in her 50th year of serving with Child Evangelism Fellowship International. She has written an autobiography which should be available in 4-5 months. She was honored as a Distinguished Alumnus of CCC at the 2011 graduation ceremony.
Joel Good (’97) is a senior engineering technologist with Duke Energy.
Erin Rukes Schlueter(’96) and Keith Schlueter live in Valparaiso, IN. Erin is in her 18th year of teaching high school English.
Roger Sabatini (’13) is currently employed with MAU for BMW.
Sarah Borenstein Sabatini (’13) is a stay at home mom working as an independent ambassador for Qsciences. The Sabatinis are living in Spartanburg, SC.
Marta Galdamez (’06) is a missionary and International Deaf Ministries Assistant with the International Partnership Ministries, Inc. mission board. She travels in the United States and abroad presenting the ministry in churches and to individuals.

Arthur Lawson is employed in the area of technology for Answers in Genesis in Petersburg, KY.
Colin DeHate was accepted into the Masters of Public Health program at USF.
Ashley Carpenter has joined New York Life Insurance Company in Tampa as a medical underwriter.
Brennen Wede has been hired as a deputy recruit for the Pinellas County Sherriff’s Office and will be entering their police academy training in the near future.
Matt Ferguson was hired to work on the lead origination team with Benchmark International, an international merger and acquisition brokerage firm headquartered in Tampa.
2013
Roger and Sarah (Borenstein) Sabatini live in Greenville, SC. Sarah is a private tutor and independent advisor. She requests prayer for her consideration of getting her masters in counseling at Liberty University. Her husband Roger is a shift lead at Walgreens in Greenville, SC.
Samantha Tierney has taken a position as 2nd Grade teacher with the International Christian Academy in Nagoya Japan for the 2014-15 school year.
2011
Andrea Dobbs was recently hired as a Research Associate for Novavax, one of the nation’s leading producers of vaccines for treating a wide range of infectious diseases. She will be working on their RSV vaccine project.

Lance Wild serves as pastor of outreach and youth at Coastal Community Church in Port Saint John, FL.
2008
Justin Wiedeman began a PhD in Cell Biology at the University of Georgia in August 2014.

Leah (Patterson) Howard is a kindergarten teacher for the Polk County School Board in Lakeland, FL.
2004
Glenn and Pue (Sysoumang) Fisher live in Eddington, ME. Glenn is the headmaster of Penobscot Christian School in Bangor, ME.
Jonathan Parron is a major in the United States Army and is currently stationed in England where he works in the area of intelligence with the United States Africa Command (AFRICOM).
2003
Bryan Goebert was ordained by Sun Coast Baptist Church in New Port Richey, FL on November 30, 2014. He began serving at Sun Coast as the Youth Pastor in 2002. In 2005, Sun Coast Baptist called him to serve as their Senior Pastor. He and his wife Amy (’02) have ministered at Sun Coast Baptist for just over 12 years. They have 3 children and one on the way (due in January 2015).

Jerry Schwenke was named Department Administrator (Assistant to the Chair) in Curriculum & Instruction at the University of Minnesota.
2000
Kevin Schafer is the youth pastor at Sanibel Community Church in Sanibel, FL. He and wife Stephanie have four children.
Amanda Allington was recently promoted to Legal Entity Staff Accountant supporting Caterpillar Paving Products in Illinois. She is also currently pursuing the master’s of Accountancy and Financial Management with a CPA concentration with Keller Graduate School of Management.
Joe Gilliam earned the Doctor of Ministry from Ligonier Academy in 2014. Joe serves as pastor of Grace Covenant Church of Virginia Beach, VA.

Shane Smith is a franchise owner of JumpBunch of South Nashville, TN.

Jody Dorris was named Teacher of the Year at the Hendersonville Christian Academy in Tennessee. Jody has been at the school since 2011 and teaches upper level English and Language Arts.

James Hunt is the senior pastor at the First Southern Baptist Church in Guthrie, OK, just north of Oklahoma City.

Sandi (Neuman) Butler is the lead respiratory therapist at the Children’s Hospital of Georgia in Augusta, GA.
1984
After many years of service, Bobby and Karen Williams have resigned their position at Camp Grace in Fairmont, NC and will assume a ministry in June at Camp Ta-Pa-Win-Go in Watauga, TN.
Stephen Carlson moved to the Suncoast in May 2014 and started work in August as a math teacher at Imagine Schools North Port. He is also spending a lot of time in 12-step ministry through his church.
1980
After 29 years as Assistant Pastor at Delaware Bible Church in Delaware, OH, Jeff Slider resigned to train for and pursue clinical chaplaincy. After 15 months of training, he took a position as the chaplain for the Hospice of Morrow County in Ohio.

Willie and Sally Means have relocated to Naples, FL. Willie is now a residential sales associate with Coldwell Banker.
